Support Adam Kokesh . . .

. . . Against more shameful actions by a government that every day loses more of its claim to represent the United States.

Adam is an Iraq War combat veteran being singled out for harassment and worse by the US Marines because he is publicly opposing the war.

Help him out.

UPDATE: Reports this morning indicate that Kokesh will be given a "general discharge under honorable conditions." this would allow him to keep his military benefits.

Kokesh himself is said not to be pleased with this outcome.
After the hearing, Kokesh criticized the panel for not taking a stronger stand on the issue. He said he might appeal the board's ruling.

"I do not think it was in the Marine Corps spirit to take the easy road or to not take a stand. In the words of Dante, the hottest layers of hell are reserved for those who in times of moral crisis maintain their neutrality, and I think that's what happened here today."

Let's see what happens throughout the coming days.

  • I was right with him all the way to the end of his email to the superior officer investigating him.

He was writing an angry but rational letter until he concluded:

So no, I am not replying to your email in order to acknowledge my understanding of my obligations and responsibilities, but rather to ask you to please, kindly, go fuck yourself.

I feel for this guy, but something tells me that telling a superior officer to go fuck himself might really hurt his chances of avoiding a dishonorable discharge.

  • i'm not really concerned with whether or not he violated the UCMJ, or did anything that should get him kicked out or not.

the politics of the matter suggest that he is being targeted because of his opposition to the war.

i oppose the war, and i think that the war needs to be opposed by as many people as possible.

that's why i stand with Adam Kokesh.

  • I'm with Barry on this one. Kokesh is fully aware of the consequences of telling a superior officer to go fuck himself. He's willing to take a stand for a cause he believes in. He gets my vote.
