This was my third pageant and I have to say they keep getting better. Clearly there are WAY too many people with WAY too much time to think of these endless double entendres. I applaud their inventiveness and daring! The bar has been set pretty high and I'll be waiting to see if it can indeed be hurdled next year.
This was our second BQP and it was again a fablulous time of fun, kids, great music, acts, costumes, crowds happy on good food and drink, community spirit, good weather, loco pops and that burger truck, and as nursecrubs says, double and triple, back-summersaulting entendres... more than you could shake a beaver stick at! Woodstick was a great reminder that the need to peacefully inhabit an area and make merry is one thing that doesn't go out of style, be it HIPPIES in '69 or families, friends and lovers of all types in '09. I took some pix and will send them Barry's way, and let's all thank the log list, er, long list of very eager and beaverish organizers and sponsors who work tirelessly to make great family-community parties like this happen. We all had a dam good time!

Had a great time at my first BQP! It was nuts. My audio recordings are full of my trademark cackle. Only bummer was I was next in line when Only Burger ran out. Aaargh! A few thoughts here. http://www.durhammag.com/blog/2009/6/8/leave-it-to-beaver.html
A bunch of photos in slideshow form to come once we fix technical difficulties.
Barry, thanks for all your help in getting me started, and kudos on your photos. They're much better than mine...
This was my second BQP and I really enjoyed it. It was great having OnlyBurger and Locopops there so it was also easy to make a meal out of it (usually my top consideration, of course). I thought the beaver contestants were very talented this year and will continue to serve as strong role models for young beavers everywhere.
Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

Above all, nice job on the weather!

I loved this year's BQP. It was my first ever, and it totally lived up to everything I was hoping for… and more!
I'm already planning to jazz up my beaver outfit for next year.
