Beaver Queen Pageant - the final hours

I'll be out most of the day prepping for the pageant. If everything works the way it should, i'll be liveblogging from the meadow starting at around 5 pm, so check back for that if you can't make it out in person.

Duke Park Meadow, Acadia at Knox Streets, today. Pre-pageant face painting, tail making and other assorted activities at 5, the pageant will kick off with a rousing intro from the Scene of the Crime Rovers at 6 pm. Bring a chair, some snacks, and a cool beverage (non-alcoholic, of course) for one of the cultural highlights of the season.

Here's the final rundown on contestants for the crown and this year's celebrity judges.

Trip 'N Rivers - An old hippie peacenik beaver
Dolly Wood - Master lodge designer and builder
Cher Beaver - International pop star
Nacho Rafa - The hairiest chest in wrestling
Ms. Birken Stock - Wetlands preservationist

Leading the judges will be the very first Beaver Queen, Miss Beverly Woody. Miss Woody will be on hand to break any ties and settle any disputes that may arise in the judging, but will not be part of the official balloting unless needed.
