Beaver Queen Pageant - Meet the band

Back for a second year in a row is Jive Beaver, the Beaver Lodge's very own House Band. Jive Beaver, founded by the the ex-husband-and-wife team Mo Beaver and Betty Beaver in 2005, will be reprising such hits as "Beaver Queen," "Sympathy for the Beaver," and the crowd favorite "Gnawin' on Heaven's Door." They are honored to add to the lineup last year's people's choice award winner Bel Vel Bevon, who has flown all the way in from Paris for the occasion. Jive Beaver truly appreciates all their wonderful fans. Thank you for feeding us, bringing us beer, and showering us with kisses.

There have been some additions to this year's lineup. This year's players are:

Mo Beaver --vocals, guitar, percussion

Betty Beaver -- rhythm guitar

Busy Beaver -- piano

Be Vel Bevon -- vocals, congas, mandolin

Buck Tooth Benson -- bass, guitar

Leevit Beaver --harmonica

Betsy Beaver -- "Beaver Queen" vocals

By the way folks, it's gong to be a scorcher in the meadow tomorrow, and i ain't talking about the talent. Weather.com's hour by hour forecast says it'll be in the mid-upper 90s when the pageant kicks off at 6, "dropping" all the way to about 87 degrees by the time it wraps up. You can prepare for the heat by leaving your fur at home, buying a beaver fan, and staying wet, or at least hydrated. We'll have some bottled water available for sale but you can help us out by bringing something to drink from home if you can. And did i mention that Duke Park is a city of Durham park, and that no alcohol is allowed on the premises? well, it is, and it's not, if you know what i mean.
