It really is. The attention to detail of the packaging on the mono box is amazing. Down to how the mini-book from Magical Mystery Tour was glued a half inch into the right hand side of the gatefold; the miniature paper LP sleeves that come inside the reproduction covers as well - Emitex sleeves for the first 7 albums, the red/pink "cloud" sleeve for Sgt. Pepper, and black sleeves for the White Album.
EMI is apparently doing a second pressing, which should be available in the next couple of weeks. Don't know if Offbeat will be getting any of the second run, but Amazon UK and Barnes and Noble are taking orders. BN says they'll ship in late October for $239, $215 for members. That's not a bad deal, since none of the mono CDs are available individually.
Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.
