West Coast blogging - day 4

Thursday's been very busy for us. No one was able to pick up a member of the bride's family down at the San Jose airport, so we volunteered to do the job. First time behind the wheel in town, and not as much fun as i wanted to have. But we got the job done. All i want to say about that is that anyone who says lack of parking is an obstacle to economic growth, needs to spend some time behind the wheel in San Francisco.

So here's yesterday's rundown.

We walked over to Third Avenue to catch the "T" car up to the ballpark for the day game against the Diamondbacks.

That's the ballpark in the distance. For giggles, here's a shot over the other side of the hill with Candlestick Park just visible. As with any of the photos here, clicking on them will get you a larger image.

Some shots of the approach to AT&T Park:

(I love this house, for so many reasons. Too bad it would take more than $800k if it ever went on the market.)

And some images from inside the park:

The Giants took a 2-1 lead into the 9th inning, but the Diamondbacks scored two to go ahead 3-2. And then the Giants came back and won the game in the bottom of the 9th 4-3. So, two beers, two lemonades, a turkey burger and an order of garlic fries was only $40.

After the game we moved it over into North Beach via the Embarcadero, with a stop at the Ferry House for beer and oysters with some old friends of Mrs. D. More on that in the next post.

  • AT&T Park is beautiful, but, man, you smell those garlic fries around every turn.

Nice photos, glad you're able to see so much stuff!

  • Ok, this is too effing weird: the green house you photographed is a house or two away from where my ex-housemates live.
