West coast blogging
I forgot how much easier it is to cross time zones from west to east, rather than the other way.
We're in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of SF. It's a working class kind of place, except for the fact that houses go for around a million bucks.
That's the view from the front window.
That's looking up the hill on the street where we're staying.
One of the neighbors a block over has done some nice things in the front yard.
The view of downtown from our street.
So far, we've had a pretty good brunch at a waterfront place called The Ramp, about 6 blocks away, and dinner at a Chinese place around the corner late last night. This morning i'm blogging from a coffee shop called Farley's on 18th St., because we seem to be lacking a critical DSL modem, as well as anything other than a French press to make coffee with. We're going to be relying on foot and public transport to get around for at least the next week, so dispatches will focus on how we manage in this town.

Great city, great neighborhood. I grew up on Pothero Hill in the 50's and 60's. What street is that Pennsylvania Mississippi. Yes, too rich for my blood now. Try the Delancey st. Resteraunt on The Embarcadero. Enjoy your stay.
