Generosity
I've gotten some virtually final numbers from the folks at Beaver Lodge Local 1504 about this years pageant. I am astounded by the generosity of Durhamites.
The Lodge was able to make a donation of just under $3500 to the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association, to help them continue their good work of preserving wetlands and habitat in the city of Durham. To put that in context, raising funds was almost an afterthought at the 2nd Beaver Queen Pageant in 2006. We raised somewhere around seventy dollars. Last year, with a little more creativity and effort, we raised nearly $750 for the ECWA. This year, we nearly quintupled that.
Thank you.
Thanks again to our primary sponsors:
The Ever-fabulous Brian Green
BuildSense and Studio B Architecture
Common Ground Green Building

Thanks also to the following individuals and businesses whose cash and in-kind donations helped us to put the pageant together and provide prizes for the contestants:
Triangle Brewing Company
Whole Foods Market, Durham

Many, many thanks to all of you. Don't forget to check back for BQP video over the next week or two.

A big round of thanks to the Craft Crusaders a group of masked fearless sheroes who put their super powers to good use. With fabric, paper, glues guns and glitter they transformed everyday products into pieces of art.
