Local tradition holds that a thunderstorm in December/January presages snow in about a week to 10 days. My informal score keeping over the past 15 years gives it about a 50% chance of coming to pass. Don't really understand the meteorological factors at play, but you may want to consider stocking up on bread & milk now to beat the rush next week.
YES! I heard it. I'm a firm believer in the wintry-weather within 10 days of December/January thunder. We might not get the white stuff, but be prepared for it to be cold enough for it. The hubbie didn't believe me about the ring around the full moon the other night, but it rained the next day. I'm just sayin'. Feel better soon!
they'll be calling me with the whole "too scared to venture out into the snow!" and no amount of roast pork and Cuban cooking will entice them out! lol
Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

My sis said something about snow in 10 days? I don't know this one.

Regarding the weather: I'm sorry you're under it.
I hope you got some outdoor time this afternoon, though: crazy gorgeous. Health-inducing, even.

I heard the thunder (it woke me up before my alarm went off) but not the legend. And I moved from PA to avoid snow... ;)
