Local tradition holds that a thunderstorm in December/January presages snow in about a week to 10 days. My informal score keeping over the past 15 years gives it about a 50% chance of coming to pass. Don't really understand the meteorological factors at play, but you may want to consider stocking up on bread & milk now to beat the rush next week.

YES! I heard it.
I'm a firm believer in the wintry-weather within 10 days of December/January thunder. We might not get the white stuff, but be prepared for it to be cold enough for it.
The hubbie didn't believe me about the ring around the full moon the other night, but it rained the next day. I'm just sayin'.
