Striking the right note
Seems to me that Sen. Barack Obama has once again found exactly the right note in a speech:
"As this primary has gone on a little bit long, there have been people who've been voicing some frustration," Obama said.
"I want everybody to understand that this has been a great contest, great for America. It's engaged and involved people like never before. I think it's terrific that Senator Clinton's supporters have been as passionate as my supporters have been because that makes the people invested and engaged in this process, and I am absolutely confident that when this primary season is over Democrats will be united."

It's popular sovereignty... anything less just isn't good enough. It's almost comical (if it weren't so sad) to suggest that people should be any less engaged in elections in their own, democratic country. So, agreed, he struck just the right note.

Does fine when reading a prepared speech. Thinking on his feet? Not so articulate. Maybe he's still clean although it's hard to stay that way when you've just peed your own pants.
He's going to do this again and again. The Dems are soooo screwed.
Obama blames poor syntax for 'bitter' comment

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama said yesterday that he "mangled" his words when he described small town Americans as "bitter" at a private San Francisco fundraiser.
Obama spoke to the Philadelphia Daily News editorial board last night, after a long weekend spent clarifying his statement that many small town voters had grown "bitter" over their economic status and "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them."
