There were a couple of comments that were well-informed; the rest were navel-gazing. I don't know why I and so many others follow the Atrios blog. He doesn't write much, usually just links, often with a cryptic title (maybe I'm just past my hipness sell-by date). Both link and title are generally ignored by the commenters.
It was pretty overwhelmingly stoopid, through and through.
I tried to off-set it and probably failed. I don't know about you, but today's South doesn't hold a monopoly on racism, injustice and just plain stupidity like it used to.
i still check in at Atrios's pretty regularly. Even if he doesn't explore the details of every issue, he helps drive the dialog about what issues are on the table, and he usually links to the most informative pieces in the blogosphere.
As Spencer Tracy is supposed to have said about Katherine Hepburn once, there's not much meat there, but what there is is cherce.
Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

And yet I still read it...

I resent those labels and will not stand for it.
