This is definitely positive -- it means they came to their senses and realized from a public relations standpoint, if nothing else, they needed to stop being so secretive and involve the community in this decision.
My guess is they'll still pull the facilities and move it out to some richer section of town within a year, but at least they are going through the motions of listening to the community first.

Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

How many of the save the lakewood Y group joined the Y after the coming changes at Lakewood were announced? How many aren't members at all?
