I like Hillsborough's downtown. The rest of the town maybe...eh...overly normal, but the downtown is a very cool little area. I've only been through their going to Tupelo's on work lunches. I didn't know that Billy Strayhorn lived in Hillsborough, that's awesome.
actually, a good friend of ours in Hillsborough who is a big jazz maven/afficcionado...
she helped campaign for the sign...the actual wording was a bit of a point of contention, because they took a bit of a liberty with it, but it was not terribly important...one of her many projects for the arts in Hillsborough :)
Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

actually, it was his Grandparent's home where he would spend summers in his boyhood...
legend has it he was staying there one summer when he asked, and was told how to catch the"A Train," which took one to Sugar Hill...
Thank Sean, and a Hillsborough friend of ours who was one of the people responsible for campaigning for that lil sign...
