Fourth Annual Beaver Queen Pageant - It's right around the corner

Beaver Lodge Local 1504 invites you to get in touch with your inner beaver on the evening of Saturday, June 7th, at the Duke Park Meadow. Duke Park is at the corner of Knox and Acadia, convenient to exit 177 off I-85.

Pre-show festivities will begin at 5pm, with lots of kids' stuff (Scrap Exchange, face-painting, etc.) and the pageant itself will kick off at 6.

Here's a taste from last year's talent competition:

The 4th Annual Beaver Queen Pageant is a free, family friendly Beaver Drag fundraising event that encourages play, honors diversity, supports community and promotes creativity through interactive performance. It is live cartoon and cabaret.

Contenders for the Beaver Queen Crown are scored for their performance in wetlands ready wear, talent, and personal essay/evening wear. Following a Florida election model the audience bribes celebrity judges, pays poll taxes, and purchases swag to raise money for the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association.

DE is proud to once again be the Official Bloggerâ„¢ of the Beaver Queen Pageant. Stay tuned for official biographies of all of this year's contestants and celebrity judges. And make plans now to be at the Duke Park Meadow on June 7.
