Now that that's over . . .

Now that Eliot Spitzer has resigned as governor of New York, is there any reason for David "It's between me, my wife, and the Lord" Vitter to be hanging around the Senate?

I mean, besides the obvious IOKIYAR?

    IOKIYAR -- "It's OK if you're a Republican"

Yes, I had to look it up.

  • What about Cuba?

p.s. Isn't it time for Barney Frank to go too?

  • BWA-HA-HA-HA!

    Good ones, LB!

Wait--you were gooning yourself, right? This is self-parody?

    You funny.

  • I want to see them talk at length about the sanctity of marriage. Please give that to me :)

  • Hey, and what about Senator Wide Stance?

  • "Hey, and what about Senator Wide Stance?"

What, you got a problem with teh gay?

  • This is the easy stuff. Why the silence on Carson's murder? Commenting about that a little tougher?

  • Naw, I'm all about teh gay. I think I was just trying to counter LB's outta left field Barney Frank reference. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

Kind of like that comment from anonymous.

Fuck you. How dare you bring someone's truly unspeakable tragedy up to make some stupid petty political point. You are a fucking shameless weasel. I can't imagine that you are a parent, and quite frankly i hope you never become one.

I can understand why you hide behind anonymity.

  • Boo! I think you should reenable anonymous comments.

I don't think there's anything particularly offensive about questioning why you haven't commented on Eve Carson's murder. It's not like Anon was trying to link it to the Spitzer story.

Besides, it was Wake County who apparently let the killer go. So what if he was captured in Durham? We also have Pulitzer prize-winning authors residing here.

  • New paradigm: The Ragin Rule

Any time someone Ragin likes does something bad and Ragin attempts to divert attention with "but what about so and so who's completely unrelated to the issue at hand"

    Ragin loses.

Notice how bitterly he complains when some else does it to him?

And since we're playing that game, what about Barney Frank? A prostitute running an escort service from Frank's apartment? Barney says "I didn't know". "OK by us" say the Democrats.

That was 18 years ago and he's still there. Old business before new business.
    ------------------
Meanwhile, several months ago, the Durham PD lets out that they've "got the guy who did it" in the Mahato murder. We all feel relieved.

Except that ooops, now they tell us another guy was involved. Did they not know that more than one killer was involved? Why didn't they know? Or, worse, did they know that a killer was roaming free and not bother to tell us? Was that manhunt thingy too much trouble for them? Might hurt Durham's so-called image.

Eve Carson could have really used that information. Durham PD have already admitted that, prior to the Mahato murder, they didn't bother to tell us about the unusual string of robberies that were taking place "because they didn't want to alarm the public". Well the public NEEDS to be alarmed.

p.s. Here's a hint related to the other thread. People might put their finances at risk to rehab a house on Holloway St. but they sure as hell aren't going to put their lives at risk. Clean up the crime problem and the rest will take care of itself.
