There was another time NY got all pissy about Virginia's lax approach to law enforcement, confirming documents, etc. I know someone in the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in NY who flagged that there was a problem with a number of driver's licenses coming out of Virginia, either being issued to people who had no right to have a license, or being issued to people with fraudulent ID.
Many of the 9/11 hijackers carried driver's licenses from Virginia.
Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

Also curious (at least to me) why an event that draws "hundreds" makes the national news.
I go to events that draw "hundreds" all the time that don't even get into the local rag.
but Americans do love us some guns, no doubt about that.
