He's really gotta go

Joe Bowser thinks it's OK for the developers of the 751 project to notify the county that they've deeded an easement to the state on a Friday afternoon at 5:00 in order to invalidate a protest petition, but if the state attempts to revoke that easement, that's a last minute bit of outside interference?

Holy christ.

Does North Carolina have a recall process?

UPDATE
: alas, no.

  • Did you hear how nasty his reply to Ellen R was? He hissed "I'm not voting with you on anything"

This is just ridiculous. - H

  • How come Joe Bowser is the only member of the BOCC not to have any campaign finance reports on file for 2008? No one gave him a donation over $50?

  • according to this 20080 IndyWeek story, Mr. Bowser did not raise more than $3,000 dollars, the limit required to file a campaign finance form:

  • Thanks, Marc. That's a good reminder for me of why I can't stomach politics at the local level any more than at the national level.

  • Joe Bowser is a disaster. Watching last night's meeting made me remember why I voted "no" on the referendum to extend the terms of BOCC. Now we're stuck with this crew twice as long as we would have been before. Bowser's performance in his last term was a nightmare. He was rude, arrogant, and unprofessional last night.

  • Hey Barry, is this dead and buried news, that Brenda Howerton got $1500 from Alex Mitchell and Tyler Morris of Southern Durham Development back in 2008?

The donations are recorded with dates after the election. Do County Commissioners need $2K in cash on-hand?

She got $150 from Fairway Advertising, for good measure.

    Politics as usual?
