Election Day
When i was a kid, my dad used to point out to me just how many road paving projects were started (and completed!) in the weeks leading up to Election Day.

Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

That is a funny observation. A small little section of Shawnee here in Old North Durham was just repaved last week. The bad news is that is only makes it a faster cut-through from E. Trinity to Roxboro.

Paving just invites more speeding. Durham should be creating more potholes so people slow the F down.
(I do like that freshly-paved aroma, I must admit. There should be an Autumn Asphalt Yankee Candle).
