The first two people I thought to send this to are a couple of friends who are writer/editors. They are more adept at English language and grammar than anyone I know. And English is a second language for both of them!
Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

Geez, and this whole time I thought America ended in "ica."
Reminds me of the time I bumped into a ruffian in a seedy area of San Francisco.
"The word is EXCUSE ME," he yelled out.
I was this close to saying, "Actually, that's two words." But I didn't. For once I kept my mouth shut.
