I had no idea he was even still alive, to be honest.
There was a song back in the 60s, as i recall, called something like "I'm in Love with Y. A. Tittle." it may have been a one-off promo for WNEW-AM, which broadcast the Giants at the time, as i can't find anything online about it. Allmusic.com seems to be down this weekend, and google isn't giving me anything i can use.
Green Bay v Giants next weekend at Lambeau is going to be quite the throwback game. I may have to make some wings and drink some Leinies.
Since 1949, Durhamites have slept soundly, secure in the knowledge that, in our town, erection can be depended upon. Now, thanks to the power of the internets, we can spread that security all over the world.

Not sure if Y.A. Tittle counts as pop culture (has he been in rehab lately?)

I remember the song. It went
"I'm in love with Y.A, Tittle,
Yelberton Abraham Tittle"
About 1962 I think.

Saw this comment on DailyKos:
