Warehouse blues blogging

Thanks once again to the Music Maker Relief Foundation and the Durham Parks and Recreation Department for another great Friday night of blues over at West Village.

The Ron Hunter Band opened the proceedings with a southern rock inflected set, and then returned to back up Pat "Mother Blues" Cohen, who pitched a wang dang doodle for almost 90 minutes.

Good stuff. There's only a couple of more shows scheduled, although the rumor now is that at least one additional show not on the schedule is going to take place.

Beverage of the night: pomegranate martinis.

  • Ms. Cohen was amazing. Very expressive, fun, really connects with the audience. She was ousted from New Orleans by Katrina, and now makes her home in Salisbury, NC. I hope she gets some other gigs up this way.
